First, take your decorative straws and cut them in to varying lengths. This will give the bouquet interest with varying the height of the “flowers”. Then, insert the straws into the large white marshmallows. Next, melt the almond bark in the microwave for approximately one minute, stirring for just the right consistency. You may need to microwave it in 30 second increments stirring until it reaches a melted consistency perfect for dipping. Then, take the white marshmallows and dip them into the chocolate, only half way, then stand upright and add the cute pink heart-shaped marshmallows to the top. Hold the pink marshmallow in place for at least 3o seconds to allow the chocolate to set a bit to hold the pink heart in place. Finally, add your pretty sprinkles. Repeat this process until you have approximately 5-10 of these “flowers” for the bouquet.
You may want to make a stand for your dipped marshmallow to dry. Here I took an old brownie mix box and poked holes into it with scissors and covered with aluminum foil. The foil isn’t necessary I only did it for looks and you can tell in the picture below it didn’t function well. It ripped as I inserted the marshmallows into it. But it functions well enough and lets the dipped marshmallows dry.
Next you will make three of the tall tiered pink heart “flowers”. Take a skewer and add four of the pink marshmallow hearts on each skewer.
To make the third flower take a shorter straw and insert a single pink marshmallow heart. You can dip them in the chocolate and sprinkles or leave them plain. I did a combination of dipped and plain pink marshmallow hearts.
And finally, for the center “flower” take 5 pink marshmallow hearts and lay them in a circle with a mini marshmallow in the center. Use the melted almond bark as your glue to stick each heart together. Next run the skewer through the bottom heart, the center mini marshmallow and just halfway through the top heart of the flower. Some of the hearts may come apart as the skewer is being run through…don’t worry just apply more chocolate “glue” and hold them together for a minute to allow the chocolate “glue” to set. Once you feel the flower is securely glued together and placed on the skewer you can decorate the flower to your liking. I drizzled some chocolate and added sprinkles.
Okay, now that we’ve completed all of the flowers needed for the bouquet. Next is the base of the bouquet. You will need floral foam, a cute container, paper and shredded gift filler. First, shape the foam to fit into the cute container. Next cover the green foam with the white paper and add the shredded filler on top.
Now it’s time to arrange all of the marshmallow flowers into the base add the cute printable tag with ribbon and there you have it! An ADORABLE Valentine’s Day gift perfect for a teacher, school secretary, principle or your kids special friends.
